The population is growing, resources are dwindling, and packaged goods consumption is skyrocketing around the world. If we continue along at this pace, we may be faced with the impacts of resource scarcity such as raw materials supply instability and price volatility.

To tackle these challenges, many businesses are making proactive strides to a circular economy that would keep resources in use for as long as possible. But as we move to creating a system that constantly re-uses materials, we must consider the critical role renewable materials should play as there will always be a need for virgin material input given the intrinsic limitations of recycling.
